engineer Steve Burgh
passed away on
February 7, 2005 at
the age of 54.
Steve had a long and
varied music career,
playing and/or
collaborating with
legendary performers
such as David
Bromberg, The
Ramones, Billy Joel,
Phoebe Snow, Willie
Nelson, Judy
Collins, Gladys
Knight and Richie
Havens. He was the
guitarist on Billy
Joel’s album “The
Stranger,” which won
a Grammy award for
the song “Just the
Way You Are.”
Steve oversaw
countless recording
sessions as the
owner of Baby
Monster Studios in
Manhattan during the
1980s and 1990s.
After relocating to
Kingston, Steve
recorded and
performed with some
of the region's top
musicians and
performing artists,
many of whom joined
in this musical
tribute at Joyous
Lake.
